Worship and Music Ministry
“And day by day attending the Temple together...” Acts 2:46
We
Lutherans have a rich history of fine worship and quality music dating
back to the Reformation with Martin Luther and J.S. Bach. At Holy
Trinity we seek to glorify God through worship which inspires and music
which touches the soul. Whether through traditional or contemporary
music, enthusiastic congregational involvement is a consistent goal in
every service.
The church offers two distinct worship services:
- 8:30
am - Utilizes the the new hymnal of the ELCA, "Evangelical Lutheran
Worship (ELW)." Music is provided on the organ or keyboard, with an
Adult Choral offering each week. A weekly children’s message is
offered. Holy Communion is offered festival Sundays, the season of
Easter, and the first and third Sunday of the month.
- 11:15
am - Led by Jubilation, the congregation’s contemporary musical group,
this service has a regular format but is presented in modern vernacular
with a more informal style. Individual prayer requests are available,
weekly children’s messages are offered. The children are encouraged to
participate through rhythm instruments. Holy Communion is offered
festival Sundays, the season of Easter, and the second and fourth
Sunday of each month. During July and August, this service is held on the front lawn.

Assistant Ministers at 8:30 lead prayers, assist with Communion and carry the Bible in procession.
Worship Leaders at 11:15 lead the service except the daily message and Holy Communion.
Ushers
are ministers of hospitality. They hand out service and announcement
bulletins and greet as individuals enter the church. At the 11:15
service, they light the altar candles.
Greeters
are also ministers of hospitality. They stand inside the front doors to
welcome members and visitors. They invite visitors to sign the guest
register, and each service when Holy Communion is being served, they
serve as communion assistants by bringing forth the bread and wine and
distributing the wine.
Acolytes
participate in the entrance procession, light and extinguish the altar
candles, and distribute and receive the offering plates. Children grade
5 and above, as well as adults, are welcome to volunteer.
Torch Bearers are utilized on Festival Sundays. They participate in the entrance procession as well as the Gospel Procession with the Bible.
Crucifers carry the processional cross at the 8:30 service. Youth and adults are welcome to volunteer.
